Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico seeks a Laboratory Support Technologist to support hypersonic experiments and research. The role involves operating wind tunnels and shock tunnels, maintaining the facility, and performing data collection with modern diagnostics.

You will develop experimental controls using PLCs and LabVIEW, analyze data with MATLAB or Python, and contribute to safety procedures and documentation. Onsite work is required; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus three or more years of related experience, or equivalent.
• Experience with safety, electrical and mechanical hazards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Desirable STEM degree and experience in hypersonic facilities.
• Experience with experimental controls using PLCs and LabVIEW.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain hypersonic test facilities and instrumentation.
• Perform daily experimental setups, resets, and data collection.
• Develop and implement experimental controls using PLCs and LabVIEW.
• Analyze data with MATLAB/Python and document procedures.
• Contribute to safety, security, and project planning teams.
