Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Cleared Senior/Principal R&D Flight Software Engineer to join the Navigation Guidance & Control team onsite. The role focuses on embedded flight software for hypersonic strike applications, with opportunities to work across software design, development, and testing in a DevOps culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of directly relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• DOE Q security clearance or equivalent required to start.
• Experience leading software development and/or multidisciplinary teams.
• Expertise in programming Java, C++, and C# for real-time embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement embedded flight software development lifecycle for hypersonic systems.
• Develop real-time embedded software for reliable flight systems.
• Write device drivers and integrate avionics with the flight computer.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cross-platform build systems.
• Coordinate with external program partners to meet objectives and deliverables.
