Job summary

Prysmian is seeking an R&D Laboratory Engineer in Windham, CT to own product testing in support of development, qualification, and continuous improvement. You will design, execute, and analyze tests, prepare reports, and maintain laboratory records under ISO 17025 quality guidelines.

You will communicate testing results to UL/CSA/DLA, support QMS improvements, and lead DOE activities while guiding technicians to meet project objectives and maintain a safe lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.
• Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on lab calibration and testing in industrial or R&D settings.
• Experience with flame testing, FTIR, physical, optical and electrical testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze laboratory tests to support product development and qualification.
• Prepare technical reports documenting testing activities, methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Maintain thorough laboratory records per quality system requirements.
• Communicate certification testing results to external agencies (UL, CSA, DLA).
• Support ISO 17025 QMS maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Lead and participate in DOE and structured problem-solving activities.
• Provide guidance on test methods and validation strategies to project teams.
• Develop and document new test methods, procedures, and lab best practices.
• Work independently while guiding laboratory technicians to meet objectives.
• Contribute to laboratory safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
