Job summary

Prysmian is seeking an R&D Laboratory Engineer to own product testing, design and execute tests, and document results in support of development and qualification efforts.

You will prepare comprehensive reports, maintain lab records, and communicate certification outcomes to external agencies. The role emphasizes DOE leadership, ISO 17025 quality practices, and hands-on data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality systems.
• 2+ years in lab calibration, testing schedules, and procedures in an industrial or R&D lab.
• Experience in wire & cable or fiber optic industry strongly preferred.
• This role requires U.S. work authorization (Citizenship/National/Green Card).

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze laboratory tests to support product development and qualification.
• Prepare technical reports documenting testing methods, results, and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate lab records per quality system requirements.
• Communicate certification results to external agencies (UL/CSA/DLA).
• Maintain and improve ISO 17025 quality management system.
• Lead DOE and structured problem-solving activities.
• Provide guidance on test methods and validation strategies.
• Develop, validate, and document new test methods and best practices.
• Work independently and guide laboratory technicians to meet project goals.
• Contribute to laboratory safety programs and continuous improvement.
