Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Austin, TX is seeking an R&D Lab Technician to join our Interventional Oncology embolics team. You will assist with testing, analysis, and process development for microsphere-based implantable devices in a regulated medical-device environment.

Responsibilities include operating lab instruments, documenting methods, managing equipment, contributing to DHF/FDA QSR ISO 13485 compliance, and supporting prototype development and investigations to drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate or 4-year degree preferred in biology, chemistry, or physics.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience; medical device or regulated industry preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA/ISO quality systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply scientific principles to test method execution and record results.
• Operate laboratory instruments and characterize microsphere-based devices.
• Quality assurance testing to ensure conformance to design specs.
• Plan R&D activities, develop prototypes, and support cost-reduction efforts.
• Write documentation including process descriptions and test methods.
• Maintain DHF and assist with FDA 510(k), QSR, and ISO 13485 compliance.
