Job summary

Hexion is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist – R&D Laboratory for its Dublin, OH site to lead environment, health, and safety programs across laboratory operations.

You will ensure OSHA compliance, manage chemical safety, risk assessments, and incident investigations, partnering with R&D leaders to foster a proactive safety culture.

The role emphasizes data-driven improvements, training, and collaboration with EHS teams and site leadership to sustain regulatory and corporate expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of EHS experience in a laboratory or R&D setting.
• Working knowledge of OSHA laboratory standards and environmental compliance.
• Strong hazard recognition and ability to implement controls.
• Experience supporting internal corporate EHS management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations across laboratory operations.
• Develop and maintain laboratory EHS policies and procedures.
• Manage chemical hygiene plans, SDS, and chemical inventory controls.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver site-specific EHS training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Track metrics and drive data-informed performance improvements.
• Coordinate audits and respond to regulatory inspections.
