Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Business Systems Consultant - Business Relationship Management to serve as a strategic partner between R&D IT and the global Discovery R&D organization. Leading a team of business systems analysts, you will deliver technology solutions that advance AbbVie’s Drug Discovery objectives and align with scientific priorities.

• Demonstrated experience in business relationship management, business systems analysis, project management, technology solution delivery, or software implementation.
• Ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in complex environments.
• Experience leading and developing teams, including direct reports or cross-functional resources.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills across business and technology.
• Ability to translate strategies into technology roadmaps and actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain partnerships across global leadership, scientists, external collaborators, and stakeholders to align tech strategies with R&D goals.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and IT leaders to plan and direct IT projects in support of drug discovery objectives.
• Identify opportunities for AI/ML to enhance scientific workflows and technology solutions.
• Oversee deployment and integration of scientific tools, AI solutions, and high-performance computing resources.
• Champion continuous improvement through education, evaluation of best practices, and innovative solutions.
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies to inform and involve stakeholders in initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
• Lead and develop a team of business analysts, fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
• Promote a customer-focused mindset and engage stakeholders in process and service development.
• Mentor team members and drive professional growth through training.
