Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Business Systems Consultant - Business Relationship Management to partner with global Discovery R&D IT, guiding technology strategies for Small Molecule Therapeutics & Platform Technologies. Qualifications

• Degree in life sciences, business, CS, IS, chemistry or related with 7+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s with 6+ years; or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience in business relationship management, BSA, PM, tech delivery or software implementation.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and drive outcomes in complex environments.
• Experience leading teams and managing stakeholders across business and technology.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain partnerships across global leadership and stakeholders to define tech strategies in R&D.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and IT leaders to plan and direct IT projects.
• Identify AI/ML opportunities to improve scientific and tech workflows.
• Oversee deployment/integration of scientific tools, AI solutions, and HPC resources.
• Champion continuous improvement, education, and best practices.
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies for key initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Lead and develop a team of business analysts; foster a high-performing culture.
• Promote customer-focused mindset and engagement in process development.
• Mentor and develop team members; drive growth and accountability.
• Advise leadership on risks and issues for effective management.
