Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque, NM seeks an R&D Engineering Intern to join the team on-site for a 12‑week program starting May or June 2027. You will collaborate with mentors to develop and test a process that deposits phase‑change material to improve solar array temperature control and reliability.

You will gain hands-on experience in engineering, materials science and space hardware development, with regular reviews, tech talks and networking opportunities within a fast-paced, collaborative

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in engineering, physics or math.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• At least one semester remaining post internship.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or projects) will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support development of a process to deposit a phase-change material for solar array temperature control.
• Work with mentors to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend regular progress updates and participate in team discussions.
