Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking an R&D Engineering Intern to support developing a process that can deposit a phase-change material to favorably change the temperature of a solar array. You will work with a mentor and a team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.

You will participate in frequent 1:1s, tech talks, and intern networking events, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment before a 12-week on-site internship beginning May or June 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).

Responsibilities

• Work with mentors and a fast-paced group to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to facilitate learning and track progress.
• Engage in tech talks and network with interns and employees at events.
