Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Surgical Technologies is recruiting for Spring 2027 R&D Engineering & Data Science Co-ops in Cincinnati, OH. You will analyze surgical data, help conceptualize new tools, and develop software for data analysis while working with seasoned engineers and data scientists.

The program offers on-site and virtual training, housing assistance for non-local students, and a supportive environment to learn across rotations from 01/11/2027 to 04/30/2027.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Computing) or in a Computing discipline with strong engineering principles.
• Must have completed at least two semesters before the term start and maintain student status during the co-op.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the co-op term.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python and interest in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of structured and unstructured surgical data sets to uncover insights for R&D teams.
• Contribute to product conceptualization for new surgical tools and platforms.
• Write software enabling collaborative data analysis and ensure data quality.
• Develop mechanical, electrical, and biological tissue laboratory experiments.
• Design and optimize data visualizations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists; participate in training programs.
