Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon division seeks R&D Engineering & Data Science Co-ops for the Summer 2027 term in Cincinnati, OH. You will help transform surgical data analysis, contribute to new tools, and write software supporting data-driven decisions in a healthcare innovation environment.

The program offers on-site and virtual training, housing resources for non-local students, and mentorship from seasoned engineers and data scientists.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computing.
• Must have completed a minimum of two semesters before the start of the co-op term.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the co‑op term.

Responsibilities

• Analyze structured and unstructured surgical datasets to uncover insights for R&D teams.
• Contribute to conceptualization of brand new surgical tools and platforms.
• Write software enabling collaborative data analysis and ensure data quality.
• Develop mechanical, electrical, and biological tissue laboratory experiments.
• Design and optimize data visualizations for stakeholders.
