Job summary

Graybar Electric Company seeks a Manager - Quotations Department who will oversee costing, quoting, pricing, and technical information based on customer specs. You will supervise two or more staff and perform comprehensive research across product lines to generate timely, accurate quotations.

The role requires leadership in sales/quotations, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with SAP, Word, and Excel. Travel may be needed to support branches and customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in sales, quotations, and business with leadership responsibilities
• 6+ years of experience with several years of management experience in sales and quotations
• 4 year degree in Business or related major preferred
• Knowledge of multiple product lines and pricing strategies to generate profitable quotations
• Knowledge of SAP programs used to support the Quotations process
• Knowledge of Word and Excel with the ability to work with formulas and create original worksheets

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates of materials for internal and external customers; compile bills of material utilizing knowledge of products to be manufactured
• Conduct extensive research prior to submitting quotation that involves identifying customer requirements and performance standards
• Conduct ongoing analysis of competitor products and services to identify strategic opportunities
• Complete and submit accurate and thorough technical quotations against tight deadlines
• Manage the change order process and job lot billing in some branches
• Periodically issue list of quotes to be issued or already issued and take-offs required by sales employees
• Support Corporate, district, and branch initiatives regarding specific sales promotional opportunities
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending specialized training and establish networks with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Manage staff by establishing goals and objectives for work, and conduct performance appraisals
• Analyze quotation activity to determine how to increase success ratio; review lost opportunities for feedback to modify future quotes for increased success
