Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on Plant Operations Leader for our South Onondaga quarry and sand/gravel operation. You will drive safe, efficient production, develop teams, and align performance with business goals.

Responsibilities include supervising crushing, screening, and conveying equipment; coordinating maintenance; monitoring production data; and enforcing MSHA and site safety standards in an outdoor, high‑production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Knowledge of crushing, screening, and conveying systems.
• Strong leadership and clear communication.
• Ability to interpret production data and trends.
• MSHA knowledge or experience preferred.
• Hands-on problem solving in outdoor industrial settings.
• Collaborative mindset across maintenance, quality, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate plant operations in a quarry to ensure safe, efficient production.
• Monitor crushing, screening, and conveying equipment; coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement to throughput, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production and inventory reports; ensure MSHA compliance.
• Promote safety culture with inspections and leadership by example.
• Provide direction and support to plant personnel and foster teamwork.
