Job summary

Ash Grove Cement is seeking a Quarry Specialist at our Leamington plant in Utah. Under supervision, you will operate heavy equipment to extract and transfer raw materials from the quarry to the plant, ensuring material supply for production while following all safety policies.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years quarry experience, and the ability to work long shifts with exposure to dust, heat, noise and heights. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in the quarry working with heavy equipment is preferred.
• Training with blasting and shooting techniques is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided.
• Proficient in English written, verbal communication and listening skills.
• Knowledge of proper operation and safety precautions associated with aforementioned heavy mobile equipment and machinery.
• The ability to work long periods of time alone while doing repetitive tasks is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to extract, collect and transfer raw materials from the quarry to the plant.
• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Performs blasting to extract and loosen material from the ground.
• Ensures dust is contained as much as possible in the quarry using water lines and the water truck.
• Performs equipment inspections and requests the performance of maintenance and repair on quarry mobile equipment and other machinery used in quarry operations.
