Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on leader to guide daily plant operations at the South Onondaga quarry. You will oversee production from crushing to conveying, monitor performance, and collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime while driving safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to interpret production data, and a proactive approach to improvements in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading plant operations in aggregates/mining or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to direct crews in a high-production quarry.
• Ability to interpret production data, identify trends, and make real-time decisions.
• Knowledge of safety standards and MSHA regulations preferred.
• Hands-on problem-solving in fast-paced outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate plant operations in a quarry environment to meet production targets.
• Monitor and optimize crushing, screening, and conveying equipment; coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for throughput, material quality, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and shift reports; ensure MSHA compliance and company standards.
• Promote safety culture; conduct inspections and lead by example.
• Provide direction to plant personnel and foster teamwork and accountability.
