Job summary

Silvi Materials seeks an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Plant Operator for our Belle Mead, NJ location on 2nd shift. The role involves skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment, inspections, and implementing fixes to maintain production.

Overtime and a signing bonus are available to qualified candidates. Responsibilities include daily rounds, preventive maintenance, and assisting with various mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical panels.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of maintenance mechanic experience or transferable skills to quarry equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Technical school/related field preferred.
• Welding experience required (MIG, STICK, overhead).
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including up to 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as rock crusher, conveyors, and electrical panels.
• Inspect equipment and restore operation; determine root causes and implement fixes.
• Evaluate failures, suggest improvements, and install modifications as directed.
• Conduct daily rounds and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Assist with maintenance on compressors, generators, fans, motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
• Lubricate, clean and service equipment; keep work area safe and organized.
• Manage tools and materials; complete work within deadlines.
