Job summary

Silvi Materials is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Plant Operator for our Rock Quarry operations in Belle Mead, NJ. The role requires maintaining and repairing rock quarry equipment, following preventive maintenance, and adapting to workload demands.

You will inspect, diagnose, and implement improvements on machinery such as crushers and conveyors, with welding and hydraulic/pneumatic expertise. Overtime is included with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in quarry equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Technical school in welding, electrical or related maintenance field preferred.
• Welding experience in MIG, stick and overhead welding.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of common causes of mechanical failure and corrective steps.
• Able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams and parts manuals.
• Able to work flexible hours, including up to 12-hour shifts based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as rock crusher, conveyors, electrical panels and similar equipment.
• Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctioning and takes action to restore equipment to good operating order.
• Evaluates equipment failures for root cause, communicates findings, and suggests improvements; installs modifications as directed.
• Performs daily rounds on operating equipment, observing and listening for unusual operation.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedules and records pertinent information.
• Assists with maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans, motors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, blowers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Lubricates, cleans and services equipment.
• Keeps work area clean and safe; stores and uses equipment and supplies properly.
• Completes work assignments within the allotted time frame.
