Job summary

Silvi Materials is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Plant Operator for our Belle Mead, NJ facility. This first shift role works 5:00 am–5:00 pm with potential 12-hour days based on workload.

You will perform skilled maintenance on quarry equipment, including rock crushers and conveyors, and contribute to safe, reliable operations. We value welding and hydraulic/pneumatic expertise, alongside the ability to read maintenance manuals and diagrams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in a similar role or transferable skills for quarry equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Technical school education; welding, electrical, maintenance experience preferred.
• Welding experience required: MIG, stick, overhead.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams and parts manuals.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including up to 12-hour+ shifts based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as rock crusher, conveyors, electrical panels and similar equipment.
• Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctions and restores equipment to good operating order.
• Evaluates equipment failures for root cause, communicates findings, suggests improvements, and can install modifications.
• Performs daily rounds checklist on operating equipment and monitors machines in operation.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedules and records information.
• Assists with maintenance on compressors, generators, fans, motors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, blowers, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and maintenance equipment.
• Lubricates, cleans, and services equipment.
• Keeps work area clean and safe.
• Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and uses equipment, materials and supplies.
• Completes work assignments in the allotted time frame.
