Job summary

NY Creates, located at 257 Fuller Road, Albany, NY, is seeking a Research Scientist (Quantum Technologies) to advance superconducting materials and processes in a 300mm semiconductor manufacturing environment.

You will conduct materials research, process development, and advanced characterization while collaborating with industry, academic, and government partners to transition technologies toward commercialization.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree required.
• Research experience in superconducting materials and superconducting devices, cryogenic characterization.

Responsibilities

• Establish familiarity with 300mm wafer-scale processing technologies and wafer fab operational software to create and update process flows.
• Conduct research on superconducting materials and interfaces, characterize them with inline metrology and offline techniques, and develop design rules and process design kits.
• Collaborate with research partners to obtain cryogenic characterization data to guide improvements.
• Grow research partnerships with leading research institutions.
• Support engagements with commercial entities to leverage NY Creates research for business needs.
• Help establish NY Creates as a leader in emerging technologies toward commercial adoption.
• Produce reports and publications with the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Ph.D. degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
