Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Device Modeling Engineer to develop, validate, and deploy predictive models for superconducting, photonic, optoelectronic, and other emerging quantum-enabling devices.

You will translate device physics and measured data into simulation-ready models for QPDKs, heterogeneous integration, and customer design flows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust model libraries and design collateral.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics, Photonics, Microelectronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in device modeling and non-CMOS devices.
• Strong foundation in semiconductor physics and predictive simulation modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based, behavioral, and compact models for non-CMOS devices including superconducting and photonic elements.
• Plan and execute model extraction and validation using electrical, optical, RF, and cryogenic data.
• Correlate model behavior with measured data and drive corrective actions.
• Define device structures and parameters for scalable models across geometry, temperature, and frequency.
• Implement models within circuit and photonic simulators with regression testing and documentation.
• Develop model libraries and design collateral for QPDKs and heterogeneous integration.
• Collaborate across device, process, characterization, PDK, and EDA teams to translate tech into usable design capabilities.
• Communicate validation results and usage guidance through reports and design reviews.
