Job summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a Device Modeling Engineer to develop and validate predictive models from room temperature to cryogenic conditions, enabling cryoCMOS PDKs and quantum control designs. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years applying semiconductor device physics to device modeling, extraction, or related work.
• Strong background in transistor physics, MOSFET behavior, short-channel effects, leakage, and temperature dependence.
• Capability to develop or apply models for superconducting and photonic elements.
• Hands-on experience with compact-model parameter extraction and model validation using measured data.
• Experience with SPICE-class circuit simulation and EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens).
• Proficiency in data analysis and automation with Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calibrate physics-based compact models for CMOS and related transistor technologies across room-temperature and cryogenic regimes.
• Develop, calibrate, and validate simulation-ready models for superconducting and photonic elements.
• Plan and execute parameter-extraction and model-validation workflows from electrical data.
• Correlate model behavior with data and physics, identifying limitations and corrective actions.
• Define test-structure requirements to extract and validate models for cryogenic design enablement.
• Integrate model files into PDK/EDA environments with regression testing and documentation.
• Analyze temperature-dependent device behavior and provide guidance for circuit designers.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to establish model requirements and delivery priorities.
