Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a skilled Transportation Engineer 3 to serve as the Quality Verification Engineer in SeaTac, WA. You will oversee the Design-Builder’s quality control and assurance activities and lead State quality verification throughout final design and construction.

You will review submittals, monitor compliance with Design-Build requirements, and participate in meetings with design, construction, and contract teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering principles applied to transportation projects.
• Experience inspecting design-build construction.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and estimates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality verification and oversight of design-build construction activities.
• Plan, schedule, direct and monitor state and consultant oversight activities.
• Prepare Quality Verification audits and assist in change order processing.
• Review monthly progress invoices for work completion; drive project vehicle; transport materials (up to 50 pounds).
• Supervise field staff and manage workload, staffing, and schedule adjustments.
