Job summary
Washington State Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Technician 3 for the Fife Project Engineer Office (PEO). The role supports quality verification, testing, and documentation for transportation projects in Washington.
Duties include field inspections, materials testing, and coordination with design-build teams, with emphasis on safety and compliance. This position offers flexible/hybrid work options, requires valid driver’s license, and may involve travel to project sites
Qualifications
- Basic technical skills in science, math, construction, or engineering.
- Ability to perform math, follow instructions, operate field equipment, and document results.
- Experience with data entry and computer-based record keeping.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality verification sampling and testing.
- Ensure safe handling of hazardous substances.
- Audit and review materials documentation.
- Assist in field inspections and audits.
- Maintain project records and tracking tools.
- Coordinate sample delivery and testing.
- Review engineering calculations.
- Operate state-owned vehicles.
- Support Pre Activity Safety Plans (PASP).
- Assist inspectors and quality engineers.
