Job Summary
The Quality Tech is responsible for ensuring that all elements of food safety within the Quality Monitoring Scheme are being met. Ensures that all regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives are being met and maintained.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform quality checks on production lines in a timely and accurate fashion every hour per line, often managing three lines simultaneously.
- Report discrepancies with the QMS to the Supervisor or Quality Manager, including issues related to HACCP, Allergen programs, Sanitation, GMP findings, Foreign Material, and HOLD procedures.
- Ensure that produced products meet all legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook.
- Complete paperwork accurately and promptly each day.
- Maintain 5-S standards and keep work areas clean.
- Keep all operational information confidential.
- Maintain and store instrumentation and equipment properly.
- Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions.
- Follow Hold Procedures for non-conforming materials or products.
- Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks as needed.
- Assist in test runs and new product trials.
- Conduct other audits or inspections as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
- At least 3 months of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician required; 1 year preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify defects on fast-moving lines.
- Basic understanding of machinery operation related to product quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Adherence to safety procedures.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally, stand or sit for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime and across shifts as needed.
Starting Pay: $21.45/hr plus a $1.25 shift differential for 3rd shift. Full-time employees receive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits starting after 90 days. This information complies with applicable pay transparency laws.
