Job Description

Title: Quality Technician

Location: Lockport, IL

Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire

Shift/Hours: 1st, 7am - 3:30pm | Mon-Fri

Base Salary: $18-22/hr (based on experience)

About the Opportunity:

A client of ours deals with electrical test equipment, solar and metrology systems and more. They are seeking a Quality Control Technician. The position is Production department focused and will report to the Operations Manager. Technician will inspect Final Product, Subassemblies, Cables, and other Accessories.

Job Duties:

1. Follow Shipment Inspection Checklist, conduct quality assessments of all products ready to be shipped, including product returns from customers.
2. Resolve quality-related issues while adhering to deadlines.
3. Prepare documentation of the inspection process, including detailed reports and performance records.
4. Accurate and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
5. Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met.
6. Manage monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes affecting product quality.
7. Assist in the preparation of periodic quality meetings.
8. Cross-train in other areas such as Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control.
9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, technical diploma, or military technical training.
• +2 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Ability to read work instructions, schematics, bills of material, diagrams, and engineering change orders.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience is a plus.
• Willingness to work OT as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Team player with good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet quality expectations and follow safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Good vision.
• Ability to work standing for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift 20 pounds frequently.
