Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking a Quality Supervisor for our Tulsa, OK plant. You will lead inspection activities from receipt of materials through final test and customer acceptance, ensuring compliance with Company, customer, and industry standards.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years supervisory and supplier quality, with ASME/ AWS knowledge. You will drive corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement across QA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, QA/QC-related discipline or technical field.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience with 2 years supervisory experience.
• 2 years supplier quality experience and familiarity with ASME Sections II, V, VIII and IX and AWS D-1.1.

Responsibilities

• Lead the inspection efforts from receipt of materials to final test and customer acceptance.
• Establish systems to ensure thorough testing and corrective actions.
• Perform internal and external audits for ASME, ISO and supplier programs.
• Maintain traceability and document corrective actions.

Chart is looking for a Quality Supervisor for our Tulsa, OK plant.

In this role, one would: Lead the inspection efforts of Company products from the receipt of raw materials and component parts in the fabrication process to final test and customer acceptance of the product in accordance with Company, customer and industry standards. Establishes systems and processes to ensure that products are tested thoroughly and effectively. Conducts investigations of quality issues and areas of non-compliance and maintains documents for all corrective and preventative actions. Supports other departments in handling customer issues, questions, and concerns.

What Will You Do?

• Directs the work of other inspectors and schedules their assignments.
• Directs the inspection of the entire fabrication process from the basic unit structure to performance of component parts, specific materials and final product performance to ascertain compliance with customer specifications, Company and industry standards.
• Contacts and arranges outside customer inspections, including communication of holding point.
• Ensures that all hold points on the in-process inspection checklist have been met and products are identified properly.
• Prepares Nonconformity Reports and Corrective Action Reports when a problem is detected in the production process. Ensures that corrections are taken and are acceptable to the company and customer.
• Inspects work of subcontractors that build, paint and assemble units to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Communicates engineering related issues to the Engineering Department and transmits solutions to production floor.
• Monitors qualifications and performance of personnel conducting activities such as Liquid Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and other NDE. Ensures shop personnel have the appropriate training and certifications.
• Performs internal and external audits for ASME, ISO and supplier programs as well as internal procedural and system audits to ensure product quality.
• Maintains product traceability program which includes receiving inspection, product identification, material requirements and mill test reports to track product performance throughout the fabrication process.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, QA/QC-related discipline or other technical field

Experience

• 8-10 years relevant experience, including:
• 2 years supervisory experience
• 2 years supplier quality experience
• 2 years experience with ASME Sections II, V, VIII and IX and AWS D-1.1

Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to interact politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

Technical Skills

• Prefer American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
