Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Quality Operations Group Leader to guide a team in applying General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles, driving continuous improvement and ensuring top-tier quality across end-of-line processes.

The role collaborates with Operations, Quality Engineering and cross-functional teams to solve quality issues and support launches, while maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or quality role.
• Strong understanding and application of General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles.
• Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of UAW-represented Tradespeople with safety as our priority.
• Apply GMS principles across manufacturing processes to ensure safety and quality.
• Lead the collection and analysis of quality data to identify root causes and track corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality Engineering, Engineering Program Teams, Launch Managers and other cross-functional teams to fix quality problems.
• Develop, implement and enforce standardized work procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations.
• Participate in new product launch activities ensuring quality readiness.
