Job summary

Korn Ferry Military Division partners with our client in Orlando, FL to recruit a Quality Manager for their aerospace manufacturing facility. The role focuses on leading the Quality Department, establishing a clear quality vision, and implementing scalable processes to improve manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of Active Duty US Military experience, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Active Duty US Military experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of Quality Management experience in manufacturing (aerospace/defense preferred).
• Strong knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience leading corrective actions and root cause analyses.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and QC methodologies.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Quality team and align objectives with company goals.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (AS9100D, ISO 9001).
• Drive performance against key quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.

Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Quality Manager, located in their Orlando FL facility.

This manufacturer offers application tooling to the aircraft and aerospace industries - lots of work with Defense Contractors. Compensation: $110,000-150,000

What You Will Do:

The Quality Manager will play a critical role in driving the Quality Department through leadership, strategic development, and process optimization. QM will establish a clear vision for quality across the organization, creating scalable processes, strengthening quality systems, and enhancing overall manufacturing performance.

By developing and mentoring the Quality team, the QM will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards. Will serve as a strategic partner across the business, leveraging data, technology, and quality best practices to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support long-term growth objectives.

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Quality team, aligning departmental objectives with company goals
• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements
• Establish, monitor, and drive performance against key quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality team through regular feedback, training, and succession planning; build accountability and influence a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Lead supplier quality programs, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and quality improvement efforts
• Serve as the organization's quality subject matter expert, supporting audits, inspection processes, metrology systems, and customer quality requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• At least 4 years of Active Duty US Military experience required
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001 quality standards required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industry)
• Experience leading corrective actions, root cause analysis, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and applying quality control methodologies in a precision manufacturing environment
• MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
• ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, or similar) preferred
