Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Monroe, NC seeks a Quality Manager to lead quality and continuous improvement, oversee ISO quality systems, and support product compliance and safety.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will guide the quality team, drive process improvements, test products (UL, CE, BHMA) and promote workplace safety while advancing Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent).
• Minimum of five years of manufacturing/industrial experience with emphasis on Quality Management and ISO.
• Certified Quality Engineer certificate is a plus.
• Lean/6 Sigma certifications – Green or Black Belt.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality team and use statistical tools (SPC, run charts, root cause analysis) to identify quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Provide QA technical support for new technology implementations and train inspection staff in modern QA methods.
• Drive continuous improvement of product quality and manufacturability using LEAN tools; act as LEAN leader.
• Lead ISO certification efforts and maintain related procedures.
• Conduct product testing and evaluation to ensure compliance (UL, CE, BHMA).
• Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Generate and coach on quality improvement ideas and assist with implementation.
• Create and analyze quality plans aligned with process and design changes.
• Recommend design improvements within engineering and cost constraints; analyze tolerances and suggest changes.
• Demonstrate leadership and coordinate cross‑functional project execution.

Job description

We are seeking a Quality Manager to perform Quality Management and Continuous Improvement functions in support of Total Quality Management.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Quality Manager will lead the quality team, drive process improvements, maintain ISO certified quality systems, and support product compliance and safety.

ASSA ABLOY Door Controls Group in Monroe, NC is the North American Center of Excellence for Door Control products.

Responsibilities

• Manage the quality team and utilize statistical and analytical tools such as run charts, SPC, root cause analysis, etc. to characterize quality problems, identify root cause and recommend corrective actions.
• From a Quality Assurance perspective, provide technical support for all new technology implementations and assist with training inspection staff in modern quality assurance methods and tools.
• Drive continuous improvement activities in product quality and manufacturability through effective use of LEAN tools. LEAN leader.
• Lead the ISO certification process and program for the facility and maintain all related procedures and processes.
• Product testing and evaluation to support product compliance, e.g., UL, CE, BHMA.
• Promote and maintain safety in the workplace. Observe established safety regulations and procedures.
• Generate quality improvement suggestions and coach others to generate ideas. Assist with implementation of adopted suggestions.
• Create, modify & analyze results of quality plans in keeping with changes in manufacturing processes and product designs.
• Recommend design enhancements within engineering and cost parameters that will facilitate quality and process efficiency. Analyze part tolerances and recommend changes as required.
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of skill as a leader and facilitator, including a demonstrated ability to organize and track projects.
