Job summary

Connexion Systems & Engineering is seeking a Quality Manager in Lowell, MA to lead the Quality Management System on-site. You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer Service to drive improvements and reduce COPQ while mentoring quality inspectors and technicians.

The role requires a hands-on leader with a strong quality background and a proven track record in audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience with QMS implementation and audit processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable standards.
• Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality metrics.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, collaborative approach; able to work on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable standards.
• Coordinate and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, waste, and process variation.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics, reporting, and performance trends.
• Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues.
• Manage supplier quality, including audits, approvals, CAPA, FAI, and PPAP.
• Develop and deliver quality training programs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Compensation, Benefits, and Employment Type: Direct hire, full-time. Pay rate: $83,100-$116,500 + Annual Discretionary Bonus. Job Location: Lowell, MA. Work Model: On-site. Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-4:00 PM.

We're seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working directly with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams - not an "armchair engineer." The ideal candidate brings a strong quality background, a collaborative attitude, and a willingness to learn and get involved on the floor.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable standards
• Coordinate and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, waste, and process variation
• Develop and monitor quality metrics, reporting, and performance trends
• Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues
• Manage supplier quality, including audits, approvals, corrective actions, FAI, and PPAP
• Develop and deliver quality training programs
• Identify opportunities to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, warranty claims, and returns

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Strong experience with QMS implementation and audit processes
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable quality/regulatory standards
• Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and quality metrics
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively across departments and with suppliers, customers, and auditors
• A hands-on, collaborative approach and positive attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred, but NOT required. Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
