Job summary

Connexion Systems & Engineering seeks an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role works directly with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to uphold the QMS and elevate product quality.

The ideal candidate has a strong quality background, 2+ years of leadership, and ISO 9001 knowledge with CAPA expertise; on-site, Lowell, MA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong experience with QMS implementation and audit processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable standards.
• Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis and quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) per ISO 9001:2015 and applicable standards.
• Coordinate internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Drive CAPA and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and variation.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics and performance trends.

Description

We’re seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working directly with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams — not an "armchair engineer." The ideal candidate brings a strong quality background, a collaborative attitude, and a willingness to learn and get involved on the floor.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable standards
• Coordinate and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, waste, and process variation
• Develop and monitor quality metrics, reporting, and performance trends
• Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues
• Manage supplier quality, including audits, approvals, corrective actions, FAI, and PPAP
• Develop and deliver quality training programs
• Identify opportunities to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, warranty claims, and returns

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Strong experience with QMS implementation and audit processes
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable quality/regulatory standards
• Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and quality metrics
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively across departments and with suppliers, customers, and auditors
• A hands-on, collaborative approach and positive attitude

Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred, but NOT required. Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
