Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector B to perform welding, materials, and in-process inspection of piping and structural components at TurboFab. You will record results and provide stakeholder reports as part of the Quality Control Group.

The role requires a CWI, knowledge of industrial coatings and NDE methods (MT, UT, RT, PT), and the ability to read shop drawings. Collaboration with multiple production teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Working knowledge of industrial coatings applications, destructive and nondestructive testing.
• Experience with NDE methods: MT, UT, RT, PT.
• High school Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety Programs.
• Inspect and receive material per Solar requirements.
• Review production documentation (travelers, ITPs, drawings).
• Perform visual inspections of piping and structural components.
• Coordinate NDE inspections with contractors and third parties.
• Assist in welding procedure development and welder qualification.
• Prepare weld maps for non-destructive testing.
