Job summary

Solar Turbines is seeking a Quality Inspector B to inspect welding, materials and piping spools for TurboFab fabrication. You will coordinate NDE inspections with contractors and prepare weld maps for nondestructive testing, ensuring all documentation meets project requirements.

The role requires a CWI, familiarity with AWS D1.1 and related standards, and the ability to review shop drawings while maintaining strict EH&S compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
• Experience with NDE methods such as MT/UT/RT/PT.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, B31.8, B31.3, ASME IX and API 1104 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding, materials and in-process components per spec.
• Coordinate NDE inspections with contractors and third parties.
• Prepare weld maps for non-destructive testing of piping spools.
• Assist in welding procedure development and welder qualification activities.
• Ensure complete documentation of all inspection requirements and reports.
