Job summary

Qualifications

• AWS-CWI certification is required.
• Ability to read drawings, manuals, specs and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform VT, UT, MT non-destructive testing to identify product defects.
• Interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement per codes and standards.
• Oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.
• Maintain quality verification documentation and communicate QA issues to multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and measures parts using precision measuring equipment for conformance.
• Prepare and maintain quality verification documentation.
• Perform VT, UT, MT non-destructive testing to identify defects in product.
• Interpret inspection results for welding fit-up per codes and specifications; calibrate testing equipment.
• Oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.
• Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Communicate QA issues with supervisor, engineers, production control, sales, customers and compliance agencies.
• Adhere to state/federal laws, ISO Quality Program, and safety/environmental regulations.
• Overtime may be required to meet production goals.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
