Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking a Quality Control Specialist – Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) & Welding in the United States. You will perform NDE and welding inspections, interpret results, and ensure adherence to codes, drawings, and work orders.

The role includes documentation, training, and collaboration with engineers to drive continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have CWI and ASNT Level II PT/LT certifications, 3+ years in NDE/quality, and the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• AWS CWI certification.
• ASNT TC-1A Level II PT and LT certifications.
• Documented training and experience in NDE methods.
• At least three years in NDE, quality, or manufacturing.
• Strong welding codes knowledge and best practices.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with mechanical drawings, technical writing, and reporting.
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.
• DOE Q-level security clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections using NDE methods such as leak testing and liquid penetrant testing.
• Interpret results and apply acceptance criteria from drawings and work orders.
• Perform welding inspections to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Monitor welding and brazing processes, and confirm welder qualifications.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and codes to validate product conformity.
• Maintain records for fabrication, inspection, and final reporting.
• Manage nonconformance documentation and support internal process audits.
• Provide training on inspection techniques and maintain a safe work area.
• Collaborate with engineers and managers to communicate inspection results.
