Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS is seeking an Inspector to ensure conformance of fabricated metal products to company specifications. You will inspect materials, read blueprints, and report quality issues, while collaborating with team members to maintain high standards.

The role requires basic industrial education, familiarity with measuring tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Overtime may be required; applicant must be safety-minded and dedicated to quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial or mechanical field preferred.
• 1-year certificate plus 6 months related experience or equivalent.
• Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Access, Word and Excel.
• Ability to use quality tools and measuring equipment.
• Read safety rules, blueprints, standards; understand geometry and trig.
• Apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to tasks.
• Write routine reports and communicate with groups; read instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wear safety equipment and follow safety rules; promote safety.
• Work overtime as needed to support production schedules.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications for assembly.
• Communicate conformance issues to supervisors and technicians.
• Make conformance decisions and report non-conformances.
• Inspect for non-conforming parts and material defects.
• Measure product dimensions with tape, caliper, micrometers, etc.
• Document data in proprietary systems; report to supervisor.
• Inspect mechanisms for function, cosmetics, and packing.
• Additional duties as assigned.
