Job summary

Alfa Laval seeks an experienced mechanical inspector/maintenance technician to ensure the quality and reliability of equipment through detailed inspection and repair. The role involves disassembly, inspection, measurement, and reassembly of mechanical components on-site in Greenwood, IN.

You will read blueprints, document inspection results, and develop inspection plans while calibrating measuring equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manual repair, workshop, or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
• Skilled in using micrometers and gauges; read in English and metric measurements
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint is preferred

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble mechanical equipment and subassemblies
• Use precision tools to evaluate parts against specifications and document inspection results
• Interpret technical documents and digital tools to identify repair needs and plan inspections
• Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
• Support investigations into equipment failures and assist in corrective actions
• Communicate with customers and vendors regarding products and services
• Participate in internal audits and maintain a clean, organized work environment
