Job summary

J &O Plastics in Rittman, OH is seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to oversee real-time inspection and auditing on the production floor, ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and the company’s QMS.

The role serves as a quality ambassador, driving best practices, supporting root-cause analysis, and coordinating with production and quality teams to resolve issues and sustain continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Real-time inspection and auditing on the production floor to ensure quality.
• Knowledge of quality standards, customer specifications and QMS.
• Strong communication of quality documentation and issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform in-line audits and inspections of plastic components.
• Review and validate first-article inspections, set-up approvals, and line clearances.
• Identify and escalate defects and recurring defects within product, branding and packaging.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Communicate and interpret quality documentation (work instructions, specifications, safety rules).
• Ensure consistent application of inspection criteria within the quality department.
• Lead internal audits of production processes, packaging, labeling, traceability and documentation.
• Serve as liaison between production and quality departments, facilitating effective communication on quality-related matters.
• Perform other related duties to support the efficient operation of the department and organization.
• May be required to perform additional tasks within the scope of the role to meet business needs, provided such tasks are consistent with the employee’s skills and training.
