Job summary

Bodycote plc is seeking a Quality Inspector based in Wichita, KS to support heat treatment operations under the supervision of the Quality Manager. The role focuses on testing, calibration, and ensuring conformity to customer specifications in a safety-sensitive environment.

You will perform hardness tests, record results, and help maintain testing equipment while upholding quality, safety and housekeeping standards in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one to three years in heat treating industry or related field is preferred.
• Must have some working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology
• Basic knowledge of commercial and aerospace materials and heat treating equipment is preferred.
• Some experience reading/interpreting blueprints/specifications is preferred.
• Be detail oriented and possess manual dexterity
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification
• Basic knowledge and some hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Responsibilities

• Performs audits, weekly probes, surveys, etc. as needed or defined by procedure and/or schedule.
• May be required to complete conformance certificates and/or other related paperwork.
• Ensure orders meet all specification requirements.
• Report any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management immediately.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Perform other tasks as designated by position
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism

• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions

• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone
