Job summary

RESRG Automotive is seeking a Quality Inspector at our Morehead, KY location to inspect automotive components and finished products for conformance to customer specifications and internal requirements. This hourly role supports production by identifying defects, documenting results, and helping prevent nonconforming product from reaching customers.

RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Quality Inspector in our Morehead, KY location!

Your Job

The Quality Inspector is an hourly position responsible for inspecting automotive components and finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications, quality standards, and internal requirements. This role supports production by identifying defects, documenting inspection results, and helping prevent nonconforming product from reaching the customer.

What you Will do in Your Role

• Inspect parts, materials, assemblies, and finished goods to verify conformance to control plans, work instructions, customer specifications, and quality standards.
• Use required inspection tools, gauges, fixtures, and measurement equipment to complete visual, dimensional, and functional checks.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, final, receiving, containment, and/or dock audit inspections as assigned.
• Identify, tag, segregate, and document nonconforming or suspect material according to established procedures.
• Record inspection results accurately using required forms, check sheets, logs, or electronic systems.
• Support containment, sorting, rework verification, quality alerts, and basic root cause investigation activities.
• Communicate quality concerns, recurring defects, or process issues to Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and supervision as needed.
• Follow standardized work, safety procedures, 5S expectations, and plant rules while supporting production and continuous improvement activities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High school diploma or GED preferred; technical training, manufacturing coursework, or quality-related certification preferred.
• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing, quality inspection, production, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, inspection standards, control plans, quality alerts, and basic engineering or part specifications.
• Experience using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, fixtures, or other inspection equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, document findings accurately, and follow established quality procedures.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter inspection results, complete forms, and use quality or production systems as required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and support departments regarding quality concerns and inspection results.
• Must be able to work assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and production schedules as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of thisposition require the ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment and perform inspections in production, warehouse, receiving, and quality areas as needed.

• Frequent standing and walking throughout production and inspection areas for extended periods of time.
• Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, handling parts, and performing repetitive inspection tasks.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of parts, totes, or materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to visually inspect parts and identify defects, color variation, surface conditions, and workmanship concerns.
• May require overtime, weekend work, shift flexibility, and support across multiple production areas based on business needs.
