Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Quality Manager – Plant Operations to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement in a manufacturing plant. You will guide strategy, ensure compliance with ISO 9001/ASHRAE, and drive defect reduction while working with production, engineering, and supply chain.

The role requires a strong quality background, hands-on leadership, and the ability to mentor a team of quality engineers and technicians across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of quality management within manufacturing (HVAC/refrigeration/industrial equipment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ASHRAE standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and advanced quality methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with welding, brazing, assembly, and testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills with 8D, FMEA, SPC, and DOE.
• Proficiency in quality data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP).
• Excellent communication and leadership, cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the plant’s quality strategy aligned with business goals and customer requirements.
• Mange the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure ISO 9001, ASHRAE standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee plant-wide quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
• Lead RCCA, corrective actions, and CIP to address recurring quality issues.
• Implement SPC, FMEA, and DOE to drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to enhance DFM and ensure NPI quality.
• Lead and develop the quality team through coaching and mentorship.
• Drive supplier quality initiatives including audits and CAPA.
• Monitor KPIs and report insights to plant leadership.
• Serve as liaison for customer quality concerns and third-party audits.
• Partner with operations to foster culture of quality ownership.
