Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC in Buffalo, NY, seeks a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Quality Engineering function for Electronic Operations at the East Aurora site. You will drive product and process quality, develop a high-performing team, and ensure regulatory and customer compliance with proactive quality practices.

The role partners with supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to promote safety, lean principles, and Moog values across the organization.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering, quality, or manufacturing experience in a regulated industry.
• Minimum 2 years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical methods, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and other quality improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with customers, regulatory agencies, and government contract requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Establish and achieve quality objectives, including COPQ reduction, nonconformance reduction, and NPI readiness.
• Partner with supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection teams to improve product quality and operational performance.
• Drive proactive quality initiatives and risk mitigation strategies across operations and the supplier base.
• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, government, and company quality requirements and policies.
• Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for significant quality issues and product failures.
• Provide technical leadership and training in statistical methods, DOE, and SPC.
