Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical field.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
• U.S. work authorization on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations in the Metallurgical Department.
• Work safely and follow plant safety policies.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Create operating efficiencies to maintain production, testing, and shipping with lean processes.
• Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
• Data-mining investigations on metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
• Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
• Manage 3rd party testing inspection.
• Maintain tracking of Steelmaking scrap, referral, and diversions.
• Conduct Metallurgical investigations.
