Qualifications

Enrollment in BS program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry.
Completion of at least sophomore year by summer 2027.

Responsibilities

Complete monthly safety inspections and observations for Metallurgical Department.
Work safely and follow plant safety policies.
Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
Manage test equipment calibrations.
Create operating efficiencies for production, testing, and shipping with lean operations.
Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
Data-mining investigations on metallurgical performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
Manage 3rd party testing inspections.
Track Steelmaking scrap, referrals, and diversions.
Conduct metallurgical investigations.
