Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is offering a Quality Engineering Intern role in Cleveland, OH. You will work with engineers to support lab activities, safety, and data-driven improvements in metallurgical testing.

The internship provides hands-on experience in a live plant environment, exposure to data mining, calibration tasks, and potential for future full-time opportunities. Applicants should be enrolled in a relevant BS program and available for the summer 2027 term.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
• Responsible for data-mining investigations with metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
