Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.
• Work safely and ensure plant safety policies are followed.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Improve operating efficiencies to support production, testing, and shipping with a leaner workforce.
• Maintain lab equipment and provide calibration support for steelmaking spectrometry.
• Conduct data-mining investigations on metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
• Support metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
• Oversee 3rd party testing inspections.
• Track steelmaking scrap, referrals, and diversions.
• Investigate metallurgical issues as needed.

Education
