Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern in Slidell, LA. Students or recent grads will review designs, BOMs, and manufacturing data, support quality planning, and help drive defect reduction with Production and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes data analysis, quality processes, and collaboration across functions, with a 10-week paid internship and eligibility for a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Interact effectively with management, peers, and other employees on quality and technical issues.
• Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in MS Excel; Power BI is a plus.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Engineering and Manufacturing information such as new and revised designs, specifications, and bills of materials; production, tool, and test equipment drawings; manufacturing plans; operation and routing sheets.
• Reviews and approves purchase requisitions, purchase orders, design drawings, parts, process plans, and discrete jobs; supports quality planning.
• Monitors, analyzes data to identify trends, failure modes, and process variation to improve quality.
• Performs quality engineering work requiring a high degree of technical competence.
• Collaborates with Production to mitigate future defects with leaders.
• Interfaces with engineering/integrated supply chain functions on quality issues.
