Job summary

Textron Systems in Massachusetts invites motivated students for a Quality Engineering internship. You will engage with internal teams on quality planning, inspection planning, and documentation for multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience in a defense and commercial environment.

You’ll collaborate with supplier quality engineers, analyze requirements, and help drive process improvements. This role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and applying statistical methods to real-world quality

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or Materials Science.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with internal functional groups and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering tasks
• Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s)
• Accumulation and compilation of
• Support nonconforming material documentation
• Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues
• Uses knowledge in reviewing customer contracts and design standards, responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements
• Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis
• Participates in developing fabrication/build processes and standards
