Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, invites applications for a 2027 Summer Intern – Supplier Quality Engineer based in Salina, KS. Interns work on quality engineering projects in manufacturing, mentored by experienced engineers, with hands-on exposure on the production floor.

Interns work full-time mid-May to early-August, earning $20/hour and enjoying a 4-day work week (Mon-Thu, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Housing is provided for those living outside Salina area.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering or related field.
• Be willing to live within commuting distance to Salina, KS or Abilene, KS for the summer.
• Available to work on-site full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening within a week of start.
• Provide proof of identity and legal work authorization (I-9) on day one.
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Work on a project in Quality Engineering related to manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with mentors and peers on real manufacturing tasks.
• Contribute to hands-on activities on the production floor alongside full-time engineers.
• Participate in intern activities and company events during the summer.
